An update over the past few days

Monday - We played golf ⛳️ at Surfers Paradise Golf Course which is literally 10 mins drive away. A nice course, shorter than we are used to but well kept and some interesting holes. We met up on the 10th with an 87 year old man called Les who was just sitting in his buggy waiting 10 mins till his official tee time, Pete suggested he join us which he did - a nice old boy, hilarious without trying!!  For those that remember Steptoe & Son he sounded just like Albert!! Pete asked him how long he had been a member (thinking it would be 40 years +) and he surprised us by saying 3 weeks πŸ˜‚ he told us that his wife died on Christmas Day but she had a good send off and he had travelled from Melbourne to live with his daughter and that he didn't have long left anyway as he was on his way out!!!

A bit later Pete tried engaging him in conversation about a lizard we had seen on the course (pic below) thinking he could inform us of its specific's identity - no chance - he just looked and said "dunno looks like some type of lizard" πŸ˜‚

Weather was cloudy and rained β˜”οΈduring the evening - 24 degrees

Tuesday we checked out the local neighbourhood, had brunch and went to the beach - Pete's favourite!!  I have yet to venture any further than a paddle as the waves look too scary and there are too many lifeguards on the beach, on speedboats and helicopters - making me feel it is just too dangerous πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

Weather was sunny and breezy, again around 24 degrees

Wednesday - we walked just over 11 km to Surfers Paradise and back.  Glad we are not staying there it is really busy and a bit tacky compared to Broadbeach. Did some grocery shopping not forgetting the beers!  Just off for the daily trip to the beach πŸ–οΈ

Weather today is sunny β˜€οΈ(28 degrees) with a nice breeze

Hope everyone is doing ok back home- will blog again soon xx
