Some highlights of the week for you all

More golf, more beach and more walking !!  It was Australian National Day on Monday and was the hottest day on record this century!!  38 degrees ☀️🥵 and we played golf in it !!! buggy though and plenty of drinks

Pete mislaid his wallet and after a frantic search (even fridge/freezer 😂) we retraced our steps from the previous afternoon to a cofffee shop and thankfully it had been found  🙏

We went on our longest walk yet some 16.5 km (10.2 miles) We headed back south to explore a huge park called Pizzey Park - the facilities were amazing with a fabulous skate park, tennis and pickleball courts, an aquatic centre which was a huge outdoor swimming facility with some serious swimming lanes and other pools, it had rugby and football pitches with a stadium. I appreciate they have the weather here but they don't scrimp on their facilities - in all the parks they have BBQs where people are always taking food and getting together to socialise outdoors  Australia don't permit outdoor smoking anywhere near children's parks or where kids might frequent. Interesting to note that we have not seen one vape shop here - to be fair we haven't noticed very many people smoke or vape at all

The kids have returned to school this week so it is feeling a little quieter   We are positioned opposite Broadbeach state school which accommodates 1200 pupils from the age of 5 to 12  again great sporting facilities and we have watched a brand new basketball/netball court be laid ready for the new school year  Apparently it is a high performing school but interestingly each pupil is charged $220 towards their pens, art and other materials!

We ventured to the pool and spa at our residence which was really nice, so will be going there again!

Wednesday we decided to travel south in the car and explore Byron Bay - we actually passed it on our way here. It is just over an hour's drive but it was well worth a visit  We have never seen to many independent shops and eateries, bars in one place  Very much a surfers beach and popular - we would def recommend a stop here

With no real plan today (Friday)we headed off for brunch and then decided to do an 8km walk along the beach. The sand is so nice with just miles of waves 🌊 Currently in the Surfclub having a couple of beers 🍻 looking out to sea - as you do!!

Again no real plan took the tram north to Helensvale for a mooch then returned as far as Surfers Paradise and took a walk hinterland (inland to us!) saw some fabulous homes bit akin to millionaires row  A good walk covering nearly 12 kn   Very hot today though glad we are now in the bar with a nice cold drink 🥤

Hope everyone is ok ❤️
