SYDNEY LAST DAY/NIGHT

Our final day in Sydney has been fabulous. On the advice of Josh (the doorman of our hotel from Coventry!) we decided to get the ferry ⛴️ across the harbour to Manly where there are beaches, shops and eateries

He was absolutely right it is a really nice place, the weather was a glorious 31 degrees ☀️ with hardly a cloud in the sky. We walked the promenade to the end of Manly beach and then walked back along the beach paddling in the sea

After an iced latte we then walked the coastal path to another smaller beach called Shelly where they have created a lagoon for swimming. We also saw 2 water dragons which were pretty big (about 2 feet long but chunky)

We then headed to the shopping area where I came across a designer swimwear shop called Budgy Smuggler 😂😂😂 they are all wearing them over here !!!!  I have bought Pete a pair (photo attached - not wearing them though 😂)

After lunch we sat at a bar with a great view of the boats for a beer/cider 🍻 and they had a very welcoming fine mist that sprayed water to cool you down - sorry folks I do know how cold it is in England 🥶 😂

A quick turnaround with a shower and change of clothes and we head back to the Opera House to catch a catamaran for a sunset cruise 🌅 and a final tour of Sydney Harbour

We have certainly done our best to see as much of Sydney as possible and we leave with a much improved view than when we arrived (well me anyway, Pete didn't really have any expectation)

Interesting facts - Geographically Sydney is 12 times bigger than London but with only 5.5 million people as opposed to 9 in London. Also they fly 2 flags on harbour bridge which includes the normal Aussie flag and Aboriginal flag. We have found the Aussies to be really friendly, warm and welcoming and would definitely recommend it for a week or 5 days

Tomorrow we pack our bags and pick the car up 🚘 to start our 518 mile journey to the Gold Coast, so long as we find our way out of Sydney we'll be fine 🤞Pete is navigating and I'm driving- what could possibly go wrong?????😑
